Dear All
SPORTSPERSONS’ Dinner & Auction
Crieff & Strathearn Rugby Club are organising the first of what we hope will become Crieff’s Annual Sportspersons’ Dinner and Auction. All proceeds will go towards developing junior rugby.
We are delighted that Willie Allan has agreed to speak as well as be MC/auctioneer for the evening. Willie is undoubtedly one of Scotland’s best after-dinner speakers (www.willieallan.com). We are also fortunate to have former professional world sprint champion and another premier after-dinner speaker- George McNeill.
As part of the fund raising activities on the night, we will be running a game of ‘heads and tails’, there will be a raffle as well as auction.
We are hoping to attract both ladies and gentlemen to this very entertaining social event. Tickets cost £35 per person and we are encouraging groups to pre-book tables of eight to ten. Please use the attached form when applying for your tables.
We have a selection of wines which can be pre-paid/ordered. We have arranged with Inveralmond Brewery to supply 5litre mini-casks of bright 4.2% beer for the tables, which again can be pre-paid/ordered on the attached form. Please note that companies or organisations can have their own logo printed onto the casks for corporate advertising (if ordered in multiples of 4). We will of course be running a bar on the evening as well.
Please complete the attached form, make cheques payable to Crieff & Strathearn RFC and send to:
Peter Cook, Gwydyr House, Comrie Road, Crieff, PH7 4BP.
If you would like to donate a raffle or auction item, or have any questions about the event- please contact Peter Cook on 07764318569 or email: pcook919@btinternet.com
We anticipate a high demand for tickets and as numbers are limited to 150 people- please don’t delay in applying!! Closing date for tickets 31st March 2010

News of Clubhouse Improvements
Thanks to Duncan and Alistair McLean for progressing improvements to the Clubhouse - We have council permission to build an 11m by 8m deck. I have asked Coventry for Fencing for a price. I would like to have this complete for a social event planned for the 10th October. This will include disabled access ramp, flag pole positions, possibly rain awning cover. Beneath the deck will be grey PVC tubing storage for the rugby posts should we choose to take them down during the off-season.
- Container storage. I have had an offer of an additional container (but not for free) for equipment storage.
- Drawings for the extension of the existing clubhouse to incorporate an additional two changing rooms with ensuite shower facilities are with a local architect.
- Numerous grant applications are "on the go" thanks to our new Grants convenor Alastair McLean.
